#Final draft 10 pro code
It's not like you're rewriting the code for Final Cut. A lot of programs have to be rewritten and yours is a glorified word processor. They complain that they'd have to rewrite their code in order to make the changes necessary and keep up with the times- big fucking deal.
I only use Mac, so I don't know.įinal Draft doesn't seem willing to make these changes. The difference? Windows finally changed their ways and started making things updated for a user-friendly environment.
#Final draft 10 pro software
I'm still a FD user because it's the standard, but it's not the best program.įinal Draft is the "standard" of screenwriting software the way Windows was the "standard" for OS about 10 years ago, before Mac became more common for the average person at home. They're still unwilling to make simple changes and, overall, they seem pretty lazy. What changed to make people embrace it again? Does it do anything better than WriterDuet? I'm open to new alternatives, but I keep coming back to Final Draft. Final Draft doesn't have server outages, and I've never lost a single sentence from using Final Draft.Īt the end of the day, you can use any of these apps to write a script just fine. They had a bad build way back in FD7, so I just rolled back to FD6 until they got it sorted out a few weeks later.Īs far as WriterDuet is concerned, it's had numerous outages, and several people were complaining here lately that their scripts either disappeared or were deleted.
#Final draft 10 pro update
I've never had an update problem with FD. If you're on Windows, it could be the FD/OS mismatch. I don't know the details about your update problem. Cast & Crew, the company that bought FD, is very interested in having a great product that dominates the marketplace. The new CEO is the former product manager of FD, and cares a lot about the product. What's changed is that the company was bought out and he was given a golden parachute. He also made it clear that making money was his top priority. August and Mazin didn't like the guy from the get, and so they baited him into showing the worst side of his personality. Honestly, I think most of the anger towards FD was because of the Scriptnotes podcast where they interviewed the (former) CEO and co-founder.
